Days
There is
an Open day at 10.30 am on Saturday 5 June 2010 at the farm of
Tony Johnstone in Northern Ireland.

approx 155527. Address: 5, Peartree Hill, Comber Rd, Dundonald,
BT16 1XA 02890 410268/ 07768 975017.
Directions:
Half a mile from Dundonald as you
head along the
A22
Comber Rd. Effectively the first farm on the right as you head
out of Belfast. Sat Nav very confusing as it takes people to the
other end of Peartree Hill. The two ends of this road do not
join and we must be approached directly from the main Dundonald
to Comber road. Will have a Christmas trees for sale sign out on
main road.
Stuart and Jennie Kirkup
are hosts to a half day meeting at their Dartmoor site
starting at 1.30pm on 10 June 2010. Post Code

At the farm we
grow around 80,000 trees. Frazer has the highest percentage
followed by Nord, Noble and Norway. Recently we have been
changing from mainly a wholesaler to mainly a retailer and
this has meant changing the number of each species that are
planted. Obviously growing mainly Frazer has many problems as
everyone knows and this is something that we are continually
working on. We do not retail from the farm.
From the A38 you
will need to come off at the Peartree Junction (at Ashburton)
signposted for River Dart Country Park, Landscove, Two Bridges
and Ashburton. At the end of the slip road you will come to a
T-Junction, turn right (signposted River Dart Country Park,
Two Bridges). Carry on this road passing River Dart Country
Park on your left then driving over 2 bridges and finally
entering Poundsgate. Coming out of Poundsgate you will start
climbing a hill where you will pass a Methodist church on your
left then a thatched house on a right hand bend. At the next
corner (Butts signpost) you need to turn right towards Corndon.
After 0.6 miles you will come to a crossroads where you need
to go straight over. After a further 1.6 miles (2nd
right that you come to) turn right where you will see a copse
to the right. The third gate on your right is a galvanised one
and you are at the farm. Please close the gate!!
